16.03.2024 // Wukuhlen // Biesenthal near Berlin

Crisp courses, festival feeling, different disciplines: At the end of the winter season on March 16, the Steppencross celebrates its big premiere! We invite you to the north of Berlin for the region's first cyclocross and mountain bike race. Some steep climbs, technical descents and other challenges await you in the Biesenthaler Wukuhlen. There will also be a children's cyclocross race and a fun race open to everyone from tandem to gravel bikes. And of course there will be delicious food, drinks and good music.

Cyclocross

The most profiled course that Berlin/Brandenburg has to offer. 2.6 km with crisp short climbs and fast descents between the festival grounds and the autocross track. All bikes without suspension and with dropbar handlebars such as cyclocross and gravel bikes are permitted.

> FLINTA* race (45 min)
> male race (1 hour)
> youth race U16-U19 (all gender)

Mountainbike Cross Country

Root trails, stone fields, flow trails - the MTB route has it all. The ride lasts 1 hour plus 1 lap. All mountainbikes are permitted.

> FLINTA* race
> male race

Kids' race

No matter which bike, no matter whether you have done something like this before - the main thing is that you have fun! There will be three children's races, each with different routes.

> balance bike race
> U4 – U6 Kids cross
> U7 – U10 Kids cross
> U11 – U15 Kids cross

Funrace for all bikes

The fastest course with the most flowing descents is for everyone: whether tandem or folding bike, everyone can take part. The ride lasts 30 minutes.

> 1 race - all gender

The Steppencross is open to everyone, you don't need a license or anything like that. There will be a maximum of 75 places for each race. The start is free for children and young people, for all adults we charge a contribution towards expenses of between 15 and 30 €, with which you confirm your registration.

Because cycling is still heavily male-dominated, we want to make it easier for women and TIN* (trans, inter and non-binary people) to take part. That's why we will have an extra FLINTA* training day beforehand, introduce a non-binary classification and offer childcare during the race. If you have any other wishes or suggestions, please feel free to contact us.

Registration is open until 10.03.2024 for everyone under this link.

The tracks

Thanks to the Wokule and the Klosterfelde autocross club, we have a huge area at our disposal that offers plenty of challenges. Situated between the small and large Wukensee lakes, a few meters of elevation gain (spread over four longer climbs), soft ground and technical passages await you. We have been working for hours since the fall to build a route that will be fun and challenging for all of us.

All categories ride a large part of the route. We have added a few downhill sections and rock gardens especially for mountain bikes. The children's races are adapted according to age group and offer different levels of difficulty.

You can find the latest pictures from the route on our Instagram account.

Child care

In order to enable as many people as possible to take part in the Steppencross, we have decided without further ado to offer you the opportunity to have your children looked after.
While you prepare for your race, ride, freshen up or just take a deep breath, we are there for your kids.

We are a team of specialists with different professions and experience in various fields of social and special educational work.

We are busy planning various activities for the tap kids, we want to make signs to cheer you on, make a fire to bake stick bread over, a little scavenger huntgand see what else is possible.
We have a small hut where we can relax and read.
For those who need something more relaxed and quiet, we have set up a Sensory Corner.
